Last Day For Unfinished Business

What can we do in one day that we didn’t do in the other 364 days of 2012 ? Not a lot but what you can do could make an enormous difference. We could forgive those that may have disappointed us in some way. We could ask those that we have disappointed to forgive us. When we forgive; it is for us, not for the person who may have hurt us. When we let it go we will be happier and healthier for it. We can let go of the hate we may have for another person, group, race or nationality. We are all brothers and sisters here on this earth. They may not believe as we do, they may not act as we do, and they may not like us any more than we do them but we are all the product of the same maker, who sees us all as perfect. I am not saying that if they try to harm you; to just let them but unless they do that, love them for who they are. Most people are decent loving people; even the ones we fear and dislike.

I am sure you have heard the term “random act of kindness” ; let’s resolve to show our kindness toward others in 2013. The more we show it to the ones we may not like, the ones we don’t understand, and yes the ones we may even fear, the more good we do.

Most of us who make new year’s resolutions either do it to lose weight or to get more fit or both. From my many years of reading about and researching the subject; plus my experience, I would like to give you my opinion and it is my opinion, nothing more or less. Ninety-nine percent of us; if we decide to, can lose weight, keep it off and become healthier. It will not be overnight; it may not be easy but it can be done. Others who were just as overweight and just as unhealthy as you have done it. You have the same God given abilities; so what makes you think you can’t do the same. There are hundreds of examples of people who have succeeded that you can use to inspire you. There are different techniques that work; all you have to do is find the one that works for you and use it. Everyone is different; it is not “one size fits all” when it comes to weight loss and getting healthy. Over the next few months I will be offering tips and how to’s to help you find what works for you. You can read one article that says do this and you will lose weight and then you read another that says do something else; it doesn’t mean that one of them is wrong. Both may work for different people but neither will work for everyone. You can pick up a point here and a point there and develop a customized plan that works for you.

For those of you who are planning to lose weight and get healthy after the new year; I would say that if you are having parties or a football together, enjoy yourself. The second of January is okay to start; no need to make it more difficult than it already is. I wish all of you a happy new year and a prosperous and successful 2013. Again I thank you all for reading my blog and for all of your support and encouragement. I will see you on the other side.    David Johnson
